Job Overview
The QHSE Officer is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of Quality Health Safety and Environment (QHSE) standards across assigned healthcare and facility management units. The role ensures compliance with organizational policies, legal requirements, and industry standards through inspections, audits, training, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position also supports incident prevention, sustainability programs, and overall workplace safety culture.
Responsibilities- Implement and monitor QHSE policies, procedures, emergency response plans, and safety management systems across sites.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, mock drills, and risk assessments to ensure compliance and identify improvement areas.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements including JCIA Canadian standards.
- Organize and conduct HSE trainings, inductions, awareness campaigns, and safety initiatives for employees and contractors.
- Monitor occupational health and safety practices, including PPE compliance and accident prevention measures.
- Maintain and submit HSE reports, statistics, inspection findings, and audit closure reports within timelines.
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers to ensure timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Drive environmental and sustainability initiatives including waste management and utility optimization programs.
- Conduct quarterly and annual HSE performance review meetings and recommend improvement actions.
- Liaise with internal departments, external authorities, contractors, and clients to support effective QHSE implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree in safety management or a related field.
- Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or ISO 45001 are preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in QHSE, safety management, or facility management.
- Experience in healthcare, facility management, or construction environments is an advantage.
