IT Supervisor-Six Senses Palm

Responsibilities- Assist guests with any resort information technology issues.
- Diagnose hardware and software problems, replace defective components, perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
- Plan, coordinate and implement network security measures to protect data, software and hardware.
- Operate master consoles to monitor performance of computer systems and networks, and coordinate computer network access and use.
- Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures and maintain control records.
- Design, configure and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
- Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to those changes.
- Monitor network performance to determine if adjustments or future changes are needed.
- Assist in training, supervising, scheduling, motivating and positively disciplining IT staff.
- Assist in planning and implementing procedures, systems and controls to ensure an efficient, timely and proactive engineering department.
- Monitor staff activity, productivity, utilization rates and manage accordingly; advise the Engineering Manager of downtime or delays.
- Assist in managing day‑to‑day duties and job assignments; provide support to the team where required and allocate manning where needed.
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene.
- Have knowledge of all safety, security and emergency procedures related to the position in line with brand and statutory requirements.
- Ensure privacy of guests, partners and residential owners, protecting sensitive personal data and using confidential information only to perform the job.
- Ensure all equipment of the department is kept clean and in good working condition.
- Have knowledge and strict adherence to LQA standards.
To execute the position of IT Supervisor, candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and more than two years’ experience in a similar hotel operational role.
Technical skills include very strong design skills, concept skills, expert knowledge of the Microsoft XP Suite, strong working knowledge of SMS 2003, Microsoft SharePoint services and Veritas Backup Exec anti‑virus & spyware tools, and intrusion prevention and detection solutions.
Excellent command of written and spoken English is required, with some knowledge of the local language and customs.
