Head/VP of Data Engineering & AI; Databricks
We are seeking a visionary Head / VP of Data Engineering & AI to lead and scale our data capabilities on the Databricks platform. This is a senior leadership role, ideal for an executive with a proven track record in building high-performing data teams, designing enterprise-grade data pipelines, and driving AI and analytics initiatives that create tangible business impact.
You will own the end-to-end data strategy, including the design, development, and optimization of scalable ETL pipelines, robust data models, and analytics-ready datasets that power advanced business intelligence through tools like Power BI. This role will work closely with executive stakeholders, product teams, and analysts to ensure data drives strategic decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable data pipelines and architectures on Databricks, ensuring high-quality, analytics-ready datasets.
- Define and execute the organization’s data engineering and AI strategy, aligning with business objectives and growth plans.
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of data engineers, analysts, and AI specialists.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in data engineering, including data modeling, performance tuning, pipeline reliability, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with business leaders, product owners, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Oversee data quality, validation, and governance processes to ensure trusted datasets for decision-making.
- Lead initiatives in AI and advanced analytics, turning raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic advantage.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance data capabilities and business intelligence.
- Executive-level experience leading data engineering, AI, or analytics teams in enterprise or high-growth environments.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Databricks, cloud-based ETL/ELT pipelines, and scalable data architectures.
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills, with experience designing dimensional and curated data layers.
- Proven ability to translate complex data challenges into actionable solutions with measurable business impact.
- Experience influencing and collaborating with senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
