Enterprise Data Architect

Teamware Solutions seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of large-scale, cloud-native data platforms for retail enterprises. The ideal candidate will have deep domain expertise in retail business processes and extensive hands-on experience with Azure and Databricks-based modern data architectures.

This role requires strong architectural leadership, stakeholder management, and the ability to translate business strategy into scalable, secure, and high-performance data ecosystems.

• Define enterprise data strategy and target-state architecture on Microsoft Azure.
• Design scalable lakehouse architecture using Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and Azure Databricks.
• Establish data platform standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
• Drive cloud data modernization initiatives from legacy systems to Azure.

• Architect solutions for:
• POS and Transactional Data
• Inventory & Supply Chain
• Pricing & Promotions
• Customer 360 & Loyalty Analytics
• Develop enterprise retail data models and canonical data frameworks.
• Enable near real-time analytics for store and digital operations.
• Design and implement:
• Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers)
• Event-driven architecture (Event Hub / Streaming)
• Establish CI/CD, Dev Ops, and infrastructure-as-code standards.
• Ensure performance optimization and cost governance.

• Define data quality, lineage, cataloging, and metadata management standards.
• Design secure architectures with RBAC, PIM, encryption, and compliance controls.
• Support regulatory requirements (GDPR, PCI, etc., where applicable).

• Engage with C-level stakeholders and business leaders.
• Provide technical leadership to architects, engineers, and analysts.
• Drive architecture review boards and technology roadmap planning.
• Mentor teams and promote best practices across programs.

• 15+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in enterprise data architecture.
• 8+ years of experience in Retail domain data ecosystems.
• 5+ years of hands-on Azure cloud experience.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise transformation programs.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, Data Vault, and lakehouse architecture.
• Experience integrating AI/ML use cases into data platforms is a plus.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.

• Databricks Certified Professional
