We are looking for a Senior Quantum Field Engineer
. The role sits at the intersection of customers, markets, products, algorithms, applications, innovation and strategy, turning ideas into applied solutions that have real impact.

• Inspire prospective clients by explaining IonQ’s strategy, portfolio and answering technical questions about our quantum portfolio (compute, network, security, sensing and space) and quantum applications.
• Lead and shepherd client discussions, inspiring them to see how quantum applications can be implemented in their business domain.
• Translate business needs into quantum algorithms (financial services, bioscience, chemistry & materials, optimization, generative AI, and other domains) and execute Proof‑of‑Concepts with the IonQ Application team.
• Share client insights with Product Management and Engineering so that feedback shapes our products.
• Navigate competitive objection handling and collaborate with the team to translate client needs into technical work projects.
• Create assets that explain features of our quantum applications and other IonQ products.
• Move dialogs from ideation to focused exploration, POC, and ultimately production workflows.
• Lead discovery sessions for business‑oriented use cases that uncover overlap with the development of useful quantum algorithms.
• Partner with marketing, developer relations and business development to grow awareness of IonQ globally.
• Attend industry conferences to represent IonQ and support booth activities.
• Travel in the US (20%) and potential global travel for client meetings and conference activities.
• Deliver technical customer‑facing value with balanced compensation that rewards success while ensuring technical credibility.

• 5+ years of technical customer‑facing experience or equivalent capacity; strong communication and customer‑facings skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or other STEM fields (Chemistry, Physics, Engineering).
• Motivated learner with a deep interest in quantum computing.
• Masters or PhD in a STEM field, preferably adjacent to quantum computing.
• Hands‑on experience with Qiskit, Cirq or other quantum SDKs.
• Proficiency in Python and Jupyter Notebooks.
• Expertise in architecture across various technologies (full‑stack skills).
• Experience leading technical events.

The role is based in Saudi Arabia or Dubai, UAE. Candidates must be locally based in one of these locations. Some US travel (20%) is required; global travel opportunities may also arise.

Compensation varies by market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
