OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Role Overview
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving Dev Ops and automation practices for products and programmes. You will design, implement, and optimise CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and automation frameworks that enhance efficiency, scalability, and reliability across the technology landscape.
You will be part of the Dev Ops platform/enablement team, providing CI/CD pipelines as a service and enabling autonomous teams to deliver software faster and with higher quality. You will also coach engineering teams on Dev Ops, automation, and cloud adoption while contributing to the design and rollout of modern deployment solutions.
EXPERIENCEKey Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and optimise fully automated CI/CD pipelines for code deployment, test automation, code quality, telemetry, and orchestration
- Configure and tailor build pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery across Agile Release Trains
- Implement continuous deployment solutions and ensure seamless integration with development workflows
- Guide teams on container deployment and orchestration using Kubernetes/Open Shift
- Manage, improve, and monitor cloud infrastructure including shared services and landing zones
- Build and deploy Docker containers to transform monolithic applications into microservices
- Support cloud migration, virtualization, performance analysis, and multi-cloud enablement
- Design effective monitoring, alerting, and log aggregation solutions using modern observability tools
- Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure availability, performance, latency, and capacity planning
- Troubleshoot and resolve moderate to high-complexity issues independently
- Apply Site reliability principles to ensure availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning and act as a bridge between development and operations by applying an engineering mind-set to system administration
- Act as a lead for service reliability, scalability and performance for a set of products as part of system enablement team for Agile release trains. Primary lead who identifies and improves the lifecycle of products/services by addressing flow of value through the continuous deployment pipelines
- Work with other technical engineers in analysing technical requirements and contributing to solution design
- Shadow architecture and technical teams to understand architectural design and propose improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions
- Coach software engineers on Dev Ops best practices, automation, and cloud adoption
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar technology degree
- 3+ years of IT experience with hands‑on Dev Ops implementation and/or cloud computing/migration (AWS, Azure, VMware, GCP)
- Experience supporting high availability environments, hybrid cloud environments, large-scale server environments, production environments, and with cloud architecture best practices
- Technical Skills & Knowledge required:
