Vice President of Artificial Intelligence

A high growth, well funded fintech organisation is seeking a Vice President AI to lead the buildout and scale of its artificial intelligence capability. The company is entering a critical growth phase and looking to build a best-in-class AI function that drives competitive advantage across products and operations.

This role is focused on defining strategy, hiring top talent, and scaling AI capability
, while delivering measurable business impact.

• Define and execute the AI strategy, aligning initiatives to product roadmap and commercial goals
• Build and scale high performing AI teams across machine learning, data science, and engineering
• Own hiring strategy, workforce planning, and talent development to attract and retain top AI talent
• Establish scalable AI platforms, tooling, and MLOps frameworks to support production delivery
• Drive delivery of high impact AI use cases across fraud detection, risk modelling, automation, and customer experience
• Partner with product, engineering, and business leaders to embed AI into core offerings
• Introduce best practices across the AI lifecycle including model development, deployment, and monitoring
• Implement governance frameworks covering responsible AI, compliance, and model risk
• Mentor senior technical leaders and define clear career pathways across IC and management tracks
• Manage budgets, vendors, and external partnerships to accelerate capability buildout and scaling

• 12 plus years experience across AI, machine learning, or data driven engineering
• Proven track record building and scaling AI teams in high growth environments
• Strong technical grounding in machine learning systems, data platforms, or AI engineering
• Experience operating at Director or VP level within a technology led organisation
• Demonstrated success delivering AI solutions into production at scale
• Experience with in fintech, payments, or regulated industries preferred
• Strong executive stakeholder management and communication skills
• Understanding of AI governance, risk, and regulatory considerations
