Responsibilities
The Datacenter Operation team will be responsible for the end-to-end discovery, build, testing, and operational management of file transfers and batch processes. The scope includes:
File Transfer Operations Atomic & Batch Job Management EOD / EOM Operations Testing and Validation Job Scheduling and Automation- Enterprise Workload Automation:
Proficiency in industry-standard job scheduling tools (e.g., BMC Control‑M, Broadcom Auto Sys, Automic/UC4, or IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler). - Scripting & Automation:
Strong scripting abilities (Bash, Shell, Python, or Power Shell) to create, wrap, and automate atomic jobs and batch processes. - Dependency Management:
Expertise in configuring complex job dependencies, time‑based scheduling, and event‑driven triggers.
- MFT Platforms:
Experience with enterprise Managed File Transfer solutions (e.g., IBM Sterling, Axway, Globalscape, or Go Anywhere). - Protocols & Encryption:
Deep understanding of secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS) and file encryption standards (PGP, GPG, SSH keys). - Network Fundamentals:
Basic understanding of firewalls, proxy servers, and routing to troubleshoot connectivity issues with external schemes and partners.
- OS Proficiency:
Strong administration skills in Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments where the batch jobs and file transfers will reside. - System Monitoring:
Experience with infrastructure and application monitoring/alerting tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, App Dynamics) to track job health.
- Batch Processing Operations:
Proven experience running and troubleshooting critical End‑of‑Day (EOD) and End‑of‑Month (EOM) financial or operational batches. - Payment Scheme Knowledge:
Familiarity with payment scheme offline file processing (e.g., Visa, Mastercard, local clearing houses) and strict SLA adherence. - Data Integrity:
Ability to validate data completeness and handle exception management during batch failures.
- ITIL Framework:
Knowledge of ITIL best practices, specifically Incident, Problem, and Change Management. - Migration/Carveout
Experience:
Experience in discovering, reverse‑engineering, and migrating legacy jobs to greenfield environments. - Technical Documentation:
Ability to write clear, concise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operational Runbooks for Level 1/Level 2 support teams.
