This role focuses on system development, implementation, and ongoing support of Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), and related imaging technologies at American Hospital Dubai.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze technical and functional requirements and suggest innovative solutions that align with industry best practices.
  • Assist vendors and user groups in designing appropriate workflows and drafting comprehensive documentation.
  • Perform document testing of all procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Review existing systems, workflows, and IT business processes to evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Develop new system processes to enhance business efficiency, productivity, and employee satisfaction.
  • Execute application testing, system integration, configuration, customization, upgrades, and updates.
  • Provide user training, manage user access, and ensure high availability of applications.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee project planning, documentation, training materials, change‑control procedures, and escalation handling for assigned projects.
  • Work on new projects related to RIS, PACS, and other imaging applications, including configuration of new or demo modalities and troubleshooting configuration issues.
  • Establish good working relationships with colleagues and promote information sharing, technical assistance, advice, and support for the Information Systems team.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following all safety instructions and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all American Hospital Dubai  policies, professional work procedures, and quality processes.
  • Follow industry‑standard processes and procedures.
  • Maintain positive, professional, and honest relationships with end‑users.
  • Keep comprehensive, accurate records of completed projects, manage computer‑access requests, and secure /password information.
  • Contribute to risk‑management activities across the service.
  • Keep up‑to‑date skills and knowledge related to RIS, PACS, and dicta phone systems.
  • Attend seminars, training sessions, and conferences to maintain professional competence.
  • Manage post‑installation support and maintenance, including training, documentation, super‑user development, and one‑on‑one user assistance.
  • Support all end‑users for imaging‑related applications, such as voice recognition, teleradiology, CD burners, digitizers, and other peripherals.
  • Maintain Windows security patches and periodically review backup, disk space, database integrity, and access rights.
  • Maintain imaging ordering systems, exam catalogues in EMR, and oversee vendor relationships, incident resolution, and staff training.
  • Maintain user creation and deactivation records, user database, and tables for doctor codes, procedure codes, locations, and user IDs.
  • Perform scheduled system downtimes and coordinate with departments.
  • Assess downtime workflows and provide training for all employees.
  • Oversee system security, including backup verification and audit logs.
  • Collaborate with the Information Systems team to resolve PACS issues involving the internal network.
  • Investigate and propose solutions for operational problems within clinical areas, collaborating with unit managers and division heads.
  • Develop operating standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Review customer feedback and support data, recommending procedural and educational changes.
  • Collaborate with radiology quality management to design future workflow integrations.
  • Log incidents and refer those requiring specialized expertise to the appropriate team.
  • Participate in rotating call schedules to cover hospital needs 24/7 as directed by the supervisor.
  • Inform IT management of events affecting timely installation and operation of systems.
  • Perform any duties as qualified or requested by IT leadership.
  • Assist the manager in preparing system specifications and tender documents for enhancements or changes.
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Medical Technology, Radiology, or a related field; preferred.
  • Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of Radiologic Technology or similar background.
