Overview
Responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of ETL processes in a production environment. This role involves end-to-end ownership of ETL operations including monitoring, troubleshooting, release management, enhancements, and close collaboration with business reporting and database teams.
Responsibilities- Provide L2/L3 support for SAP BODS ETL jobs, including monitoring daily batch executions, incident resolution, root cause analysis, and SLA adherence.
- Manage ETL releases and deployments in production, including scheduling, environment configuration, user access, and repository administration.
- Design, enhance, and optimize ETL jobs to improve performance, scalability, and data quality, while implementing validation, reconciliation, and audit controls.
- Perform troubleshooting and performance tuning of ETL workflows, long running jobs, and data discrepancies using in-database processing, indexing, and parallel execution techniques.
- Support SAP Business Objects reports and universes dependent on ETL data.
- Analyze and resolve reporting issues related to data accuracy, refresh failures, and latency.
- Collaborate with reporting teams to ensure data consistency between ETL and BO layers.
- Work extensively with Oracle, SQL Server, or other RDBMS to write, analyze, and optimize complex SQL queries, procedures, and views.
- Perform data analysis and source-to-target reconciliation to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Support performance tuning and ensure compliance with defined business rules and standards.
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Holds relevant certifications such as SAP Certified Application Associate – Data Integration with SAP BODS (highly regarded).
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and database design principles.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with various database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex data issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
