Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Infrastructure Lead to drive the design, delivery, and operational excellence of enterprise infrastructure within a regulated banking environment. The role requires strong leadership across hybrid infrastructure platforms, including virtualization, networking, databases, monitoring, storage, and backup systems. The successful candidate will lead the end‑to‑end infrastructure architecture and delivery lifecycle with a strong focus on High‑Level Design (HLD), system resilience, compliance, and performance optimization.
This role collaborates closely with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, application teams, and business stakeholders to ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and compliant banking systems.
- Minimum 10 years of overall IT infrastructure experience.
- At least 4 years in a Technical Lead or Infrastructure Architecture role.
- Mandatory experience within the Banking or Financial Services sector.
- Proven experience working in regulated environments with strict security and compliance requirements.
- Own and review High‑Level Design (HLD) documentation, translating business and regulatory requirements into scalable and secure infrastructure solutions.
- Define enterprise reference architectures and infrastructure standards for on‑premises, virtualized, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Design and architect IBM Cloud Pak‑based platforms, including infrastructure sizing, scalability, and resilience.
- Lead capacity planning, performance modeling, and infrastructure optimization aligned with long‑term business growth and cost efficiency.
- Ensure all infrastructure designs meet banking regulatory, security, and availability standards.
- Lead the implementation, deployment, and lifecycle management of virtualization, compute, storage, and networking platforms.
- Oversee enterprise virtualization environments such as VMware vSphere ESXi or Microsoft Hyper‑V.
- Manage core networking architecture, including routing, switching, firewalling, segmentation, VPNs, and load balancing.
- Guide IBM Cloud Pak platform engineering, including installation, configuration, lifecycle upgrades, patch management, and HA/DR strategies.
- Establish and enforce configuration management automation frameworks and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) practices.
- Provide technical oversight for enterprise database environments including Postgre
SQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server. - Design and manage high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions such as Oracle RAC, SQL Server Always On, and Postgre
SQL Streaming Replication. - Lead initiatives for performance optimization, patch management, backup strategies, and database security controls.
- Ensure database platforms meet banking security, encryption, and auditing standards.
- Architect enterprise monitoring and observability frameworks using Dynatrace and Solar Winds.
- Establish SLIs, SLOs, dashboards, alerting frameworks, and proactive monitoring practices.
- Enable AIOps‑driven monitoring to improve operational efficiency and reduce incidents.
- Design and validate backup, restore, and disaster‑recovery strategies aligned with defined RTO/RPO objectives.
- Conduct regular resilience and DR testing exercises.
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with banking regulatory standards and security frameworks such as ISO
27001 and PCIDSS where applicable. - Prepare documentation and evidence required for internal and external regulatory audits.
- Maintain risk registers, remediation plans, and security controls across infrastructure environments.
- Enforce ITIL processes including Change Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, Release Management, and CMDB governance.
- Lead and mentor a multi‑disciplinary infrastructure engineering team.
- Foster a culture of operational excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, cybersecurity teams, application teams, and business stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, partners, and system integrators.
