Database administrator; DBA Oracle​/PostgreSQL​/MongoDB​/MSSQL server

Responsibilities

• Support multiple Data platforms such as Oracle or Postgre
  
  SQL or Mongo
  
  DB or MSSQL server.
• Support Infrastructure and application Dev Ops teams with changes and releases.
• Build and set up databases as per application requirement (both on-premise and on cloud).
• Understand solution design documents and work with application teams on configuration setup.
• Participate in all technical tasks defined for the team as and when appropriate, ensuring completion.
• Be familiar with product security vulnerability management, plan and manage their impact and remediation, communicating to a global audience.
• Be aware of ongoing infrastructure issues and vigilantly avoid/minimize downtime of services.
• Understand business, environments, shared services to prioritize incidents.
• Understand Infrastructure scope and controls for services under Group Data.
• Identify operational risks and contribute to mitigate them.
• Ensure deliverables are met on time and to high levels of quality.
• Identify service delivery issues (SLA slippages, quality, etc.) and implement corrective actions.
• As part of the wider pool of Infra Engineers, identify where you can contribute to automation of daily tasks and be ready to take up MW/Linux tasks.
• Setup automation(s) to take out waste.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels through a variety of mediums.

• Working knowledge of one or more DB platforms such as Oracle, Postgre
  
  SQL, Mongo
  
  DB, or MSSQL server.
• Hands‑on experience in performing minor and major version upgrades of databases.
• Experience working with Dev Ops tools such as Git Hub, Confluence, and Jira.
• Understanding of Puppet, Ansible, and Jenkins for endpoint management and application deployment across a large infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of vulnerability management and remediation actions to be taken.
• Experience in installation and configuration of database software.
• Experience in planning and performing DR drills and role swaps.
• Experience with replication and HA technologies.
• Good Unix/Linux administration skills.
• Ability to work flexibly in weekend change support rota.
• Basic knowledge of shell scripting or Python scripting.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Google Cloud is beneficial.
• Understanding of infrastructure-as-code, Dev Ops continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, building automated test scripts for infrastructure products and upgrades, and building automation interfaces between systems.
• Process knowledge of incident, change, and problem management tools and procedures.
