Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer – Innovations Global – Dubai, UAE

Innovations Global is seeking a skilled Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer to manage and optimize enterprise backup and recovery environments. This role is critical in ensuring data protection, platform reliability, and rapid recovery of business‑critical systems across enterprise infrastructure.

As a Backup & DR Engineer, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end management of backup platforms and disaster recovery operations in a dynamic enterprise environment. You will work with leading technologies such as Avamar, HPE Data Protector, Rubrik, and Veritas to ensure data availability, integrity, and compliance with backup policies. The role involves daily monitoring, troubleshooting, restoration operations, and collaboration with stakeholders to maintain system health and performance.

• Manage and deliver backup and disaster recovery services with full lifecycle ownership
• Monitor and administer backup platforms, performing routine health checks and optimization
• Configure, schedule, execute, and troubleshoot backup jobs in line with defined policies
• Handle incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs using ticketing systems
• Deploy and manage backup clients across enterprise environments
• Monitor backup schedules and client status to ensure successful execution
• Coordinate firmware and software upgrades with stakeholders and OEM vendors
• Generate periodic and ad‑hoc reports on backup performance and compliance
• Maintain backup data in alignment with retention and governance policies
• Execute data restoration requests and support disaster recovery operations

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in backup and disaster recovery engineering
• Strong hands‑on experience with backup technologies such as Avamar, HPE Data Protector, Rubrik, and Veritas
• Experience with ticketing and monitoring tools (Manage Engine Service Desk Plus, OpManager, or similar)
• Solid understanding of backup strategies, data retention policies, and DR processes
• Experience in troubleshooting backup failures and performance issues
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills

• Experience in enterprise‑scale or managed services environments
• Knowledge of virtualization and cloud backup solutions
• Familiarity with ITIL‑based service management processes
• Experience with automation or scripting for backup operations
