Overview

Kitchen & Laundry Technician at Six Senses The Palm Dubai. Responsible for maintenance of hotel kitchen and laundry equipment, assisting engineering with regular handiwork, and ensuring clean and safe working environments in accordance with brand and statutory requirements.

• Carry out maintenance of hotel kitchen and laundry equipment as per the scheduled maintenance and preventive maintenance programs.
• Assist the engineering department with handiwork around the hotel as required.
• Maintain clean working areas and ensure all areas remain clean at all times.
• Use personal safety gear for safety during work.
• Respond to all maintenance complaints and assist on plumbing stoppages.
• Respond to emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc.
• Lubricate machinery regularly and perform machinist tasks such as replacing and repairing bearings, gears, belts, shafts, control mechanisms, etc.
• Assist on major shutdowns for repairs; use personal safety gear during duty.
• Maintain a professional, well-groomed appearance as per department and company standards.
• Follow health and safety standards and strive for continuous improvement to reduce health and injury hazards.
• Knowledge of safety, security, and emergency procedures related to the position in line with brand and statutory requirements.
• Ensure privacy of guests, partners and residential owners; apply an extra level of protection to sensitive personal data and use confidential information only to perform the job.
• Keep all department equipment clean and in good working condition.
• Attend meetings and training as required.
• Knowledge and strict adherence to LQA standards.

• Minimum Secondary School completion and/or a valid license to practice profession.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results.
• Mechanical skills are mandatory.
• Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
