Position: Beach Management Director

One of the leading hospitality and resort development mega projects in Saudi Arabia.

Design and Planning
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design beach restoration, enhancement, and maintenance projects.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate the environmental impact of proposed projects.
  • Develop detailed plans and specifications for beach construction and maintenance, including erosion control, habitat restoration, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Ensure designs are sustainable and compliant with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
Environmental Stewardship
  • Develop and implement strategies for the preservation and restoration of marine and coastal ecosystems, working closely with environmental scientists and regulatory bodies to implement best practices.
  • Monitor the health of marine habitats, including dunes, reefs, and coastal vegetation, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and propose mitigation strategies for potential negative effects of beach projects.
  • Ensure that all beach maintenance activities comply with environmental regulations, including those related to coastal management, wildlife protection, and pollution control.
  • Promote sustainable practices within the organization, including the reduction of waste, energy use, and the implementation of eco-friendly technologies.
Maintenance and Operations
  • Design and implement management and maintenance programs for beach infrastructure, including walkways, seawalls, and drainage systems.
  • Manage ongoing beach maintenance activities, ensuring beaches remain safe, clean, and accessible to the public.
  • Identify and address issues related to beach erosion, water quality, and marine debris.
  • Utilize technology and innovative practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance operations.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of beach management and maintenance, including cleaning, waste management, erosion control, facility maintenance, and hazard mitigation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement infrastructure improvements that enhance the durability and resilience of beach areas.
  • Ensure the timely response to emergencies, such as oil spills, storms, and other environmental hazards, coordinating with local authorities and emergency services as needed.
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and implement a long-term strategic plan for beach management and maintenance that aligns with organizational goals, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the beach management department, ensuring that all operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Set performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department, regularly assessing progress and making necessary adjustments.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Environmental Science, Coastal Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in beach maintenance, coastal management, or a related field with at least 5-7 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Experience in marine design and construction will be an advantage.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage large teams and complex projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, coastal ecosystems, and best practices in beach management and maintenance.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex environmental data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience with emergency management and response planning.
