IT Project Manager, Data Science Manager

This role requires a self-starter with strong business modeling skills, keen attention to detail, and a good track record of collaborating with diverse stakeholders. It involves regular interaction with senior leadership and stakeholders across Amazon, requiring strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must operate autonomously, navigate ambiguity, and maintain high performance standards, while also hiring, developing, and retaining top talent.
Key Job Responsibilities- Deliver complex, large-scale programs and projects from initiation through delivery by leading cross‑functional, geographically diverse project teams.
- Understand the business requirements and ensure implementation from a people, process, policy, and technology perspective by working with technical teams to design, develop, test, and launch scalable solutions that meet customer needs while maintaining our high controllership standards.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and obstacles by collaborating closely with business partners, key PMO (Project Management Office) Excellence stakeholders, and team members; ensuring Plan B’s are always in place.
- Continuously strengthen Finance Operations effectiveness with a relentless focus on identifying and delivering continuous improvement opportunities.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of program managers (L4‑L5); drive performance management, career development, and succession planning.
- Partner with senior leadership to align priorities and strategy and present regular updates to executive leadership.
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of program or project management experience
- 6+ years of people management experience
- Experience working with and influencing senior-level stakeholders
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience planning and executing strategic programs with stakeholders
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification
