Estimating Manager

To implement & monitor all technical/commercial aspects of estimation, ensuring adherence to the AATI estimating procedures as required by the Quality Assurance plan and ISO requirements. Managing a team of Estimators (Fit Out and Joinery) and Administration Staff to ensure preparation of timely, accurate, comprehensive & competitive bids on multiple tenders in the Hospitality, Residential, Healthcare, Office and Retail sectors from the value of AED
10k to AED
100M+.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support Commercial Manager in the development of the commercial strategy by providing input from the perspective of the Estimating division, ensuring that relevant goals and objectives are incorporated
- Overall management of the estimating department, processes and estimating team
- Collaborate with the Business Development Manager in relation to Tender Enquiries, providing support with Pre-qualification documents and EOI’s. Attend Pre tender interviews with the Client / Clients Representative.
- Review tender enquiries and present overview to Senior Management for a recommendation to bid.
- Allocate tender to a member of the Estimating team and liaise with the Commercial, Finance, Planning and Operations team on all technical and contractual requirements.
- Support Estimating team to ensure best prices are obtained from the market and the minimum number of quotations are received from the Supply Chain
- Manage tendering process including RFI’s and Tender addendums. Review inputs from the Commercial / Operation / Planning Team to ensure inclusion in the final bid submission
- Review tender documents to ensure compliant bid with a view to secure business interests and a maximum profit as well as shield the business from any unaccounted risks.
- Prepare detailed adjudication and chair adjudication meeting highlighting all inclusions and exclusions, Subcontract and Supplier comparisons and Preliminaries budget. Advise Senior Management on compliance with technical document
- Review and present Value Engineering / Alternative options for submission as an Alternative Bid.
- Ensure that a fully compliant bid is submitted in a timely manner.
- Manage the PTC process including attending meetings with the Client / Clients Representative.
- Upon Project award arrange and chair a tender handover meeting to Project Team
- Provide necessary Post Tender support to the Project Team
- Manage and maintain the Aati Contracts supply chain
- Manage and monitors construction cost data base
- Develop and Continually update pricing database for cost plan and budgetary tenders
- Guide, mentor and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles
- Prepare and maintain estimation statistics, providing analysis on win ratios based on values and sectors.
