Indirect Reports: Regional Central Functions (Finance, Procurement, HSEQ, HR, Marketing, Technical Services & Design)
Location: Dubai / Frequent Travel to Multiple regions
Contract Type: Full-Time
Job Objective: To lead the implementation of Arena Group’s Sustainability and CSR Strategy across the EMEA region. The role will guide Executive and Senior Leadership teams to ensure sustainability is fully integrated into business operations and planning, embedding ethical, socially responsible, and environmentally sustainable practices throughout the organization. This position also manages key external stakeholder relationships with owners, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with evolving sustainability standards, reporting requirements, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the full sustainability lifecycle—from strategy development and implementation to performance monitoring and reporting.
- Manage consultants to deliver regional and functional sustainability action plans.
- Collaborate with regional leadership to ensure sustainability goals align with operational and business objectives.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for innovation and improvement.
- Report, measure, and monitor sustainability KPIs and progress against objectives for senior leadership and the Board.
- Build strong relationships with strategic leads and business heads to drive implementation of sustainability initiatives.
- Promote the business case for sustainability to executive stakeholders across regions.
- Manage external sustainability consultants to ensure delivery of agreed objectives and outcomes.
- Maintain and expand strategic partnerships to enhance Arena’s sustainability capabilities.
- Support regional teams with engagement of high-profile clients and strategic partners on sustainability and CSR matters.
- Collaborate regularly with Managing Directors across the region to resolve sustainability-related challenges and ensure alignment.
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of regular sustainability reports, ensuring transparency and adherence to environmental and governance regulations.
- Track sustainability KPIs and ensure subcontractors align with Arena’s sustainability standards.
- Ensure continued compliance and certification with ISO 20121 (Event Sustainability) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
- Provide guidance on integrating sustainability requirements into contracts, supplier evaluations, and performance targets.
- Manage the EMEA Sustainability Advisory Team to achieve results in line with the Arena Group Sustainability Strategy.
- Ensure all team members understand how their work contributes to the broader sustainability goals.
- Recruit, train, and mentor team members to build capability and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Motivate the team and promote cross-regional collaboration to ensure consistent delivery of objectives.
- Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others.
- Comply with Arena Group’s HSEQ policies and procedures at all times.
- Participate in safety and environmental training as required.
