Profile:
The Crewing Officer is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and administration concerning the scheduling/planning of offshore personnel.
Responsibilities- Ensures that all vessels are staffed by certified, qualified and medically fit personnel and in compliance with all flag state and international requirements.
- Focal point on all offshore personnel and crewing matters.
- Manages travel bookings for offshore personnel in a timely manner.
- Coordinates all recruitment and selection processes, for all offshore crew and is responsible for any Crewing related project he/she is assigned to.
- Work location is primarily office based but can include offshore and onsite visits.
- Ensures that all work assigned to him/her is carried out in compliance with Company policies and procedures, and in accordance with the given instructions.
- Maintains confidentiality concerning personal or corporate information.
- Acts as a member of the onshore emergency response team.
- Responsible for the contract management with crewing agents and catering companies and acts as focal point for crewing matters within the Company organization.
- Responsible to keep the offshore planning up-to-date and manages offshore leave requests.
- Communicates recruitment, employee movement, promotions, terminations, crew-change and employee relations information to HR/Crewing Manager, Fleet Manager, Vessel Superintendents and other relevant parties.
- Provides support and guidance to Operations Manager and Vessel Superintendents as necessary with regard to diversity, employee relations, progressive discipline and performance management issues, with guidance from HR/Crewing Manager if needed.
- Defines the recruitment needs in consultation with HR/Crewing Manager and Fleet Manager.
- Coordinates and supervises the introduction process of new employees offshore.
- Maintains, implements, monitors and continuously improves the crewing procedures and systems.
- Monitors the up-to-date personnel records and data of current crew onboard and ensures confidentiality at all times.
- Monitors and updates crew rotation schedules.
- Liaises with crewing agencies/training centres and arranges necessary meetings with them.
- Overall control that all offshore employees are in possession of the required certificates and documentation as per flag state, local authority and company rules, regulations and procedures.
- Supports and processes payroll for offshore personnel.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
- Participates in weekly crewing meetings.
- Occasional shipyard visits may be required.
- Experience with in a similar role and industry is preferred.
