Operations & Studio Manager
Overview
The Operations Manager serves as a key leader within the landscape design company, responsible for streamlining operations to ensure efficiency, drive profitability, and ensure the successful execution of projects from concept to completion. This role involves close collaboration with the design team, site contractors, clients, and leadership to maintain high-quality standards and align operational processes with the company’s strategic objectives.

ResponsibilitiesMultidisciplinary Oversight:
Manage and be responsible for reporting to management for all departments, including the Landscape Design Team, Site Production/Construction, Sales, Admin and Accounting.Team Leadership & HR:
Lead and support a team staff members, fostering a culture of excellence and improve overall operations.Operational Workflow:
Plan and manage daily and long-term business operations. Ensure all software systems (CRM/ERP), IT infrastructure, and internal agreements are maintained to ensure smooth workflows between the office and site teams.Financial Performance:
Monitor and manage operational budgets, P&L statements, and KPIs to maintain high profitability and cost efficiency across all landscape projects.The Client Journey:
Oversee the client experience from initial inquiry through to the final garden handover. Manage contract negotiations, conflict resolution, and ensure deliverables exceed expectations.Technology & Innovation:
Lead the implementation of new industry-specific software (e.g., project management or BIM tools), including training and ongoing adaptation.Sales & Contractual Support:
Work with the Sales Team to review proposals and contractual obligations, ensuring all leads are recorded and managed according to company policy.Brand Advocacy:
Collaborate with the Marketing Team to ensure brand consistency across office collateral and local awareness, championing the team to strengthen the firm’s presence in the landscape industry.Compliance & Policy:
Review, draft, and enforce company policies to ensure compliance and operational consistency, specifically regarding site safety and design standards.Process Improvement:
Regularly assess internal processes (from plant procurement to site handover), suggest improvements, and resolve operational roadblocks or employee relations issues.Production & Construction Oversight:
Plan and supervise all aspects of landscape production and installation, ensuring alignment with design intent, company standards, and client timelines.Studio Standards:
Maintain a detail-oriented, professional workspace and studio environment, ensuring all communication and efficiency standards are met.
