To manage and execute detailed production planning and scheduling activities to ensure optimal utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials to meet customer demands. The role maintains the Master Production Schedule (MPS), coordinates with cross‑functional teams, and ensures timely execution of work orders to support efficient packaging operations.
Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Scheduling- Develop daily and weekly production schedules in coordination with Sales and Production teams.
- Monitor job orders, prioritise them based on delivery commitments and available resources.
- Maintain and update the Master Production Schedule (MPS) with accuracy.
- Prepare and release all necessary documentation (e.g., process flow sheets) to the shop floor for effective production planning & control.
- Prepare production plan in liaison with production team to meet delivery schedule and customer requirements.
- Act as a bridge between Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to ensure timely and accurate flow of information.
- Liaise with the production team to identify capacity constraints and reschedule accordingly.
- Support the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process by providing inputs and forecasts.
- Track inventory levels and suggest replenishments to meet production demand.
- Monitor consumption of raw materials and ensure alignment with planned usage.
- Update and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) in collaboration with Quality and Production teams.
- Maintain production‑related data in Oracle ERP and ensure accurate job postings.
- Ensure man‑hours used on machineries are recorded timely and accurately, verifying with related records.
- Support Master Data Governance for Operations Master Data within Oracle ERP.
- Analyze production reports, downtime logs, and performance trends to support decision‑making.
- Assist in scheduling machine usage to optimise capacity and overall plant performance.
- Plan and schedule new product developments/trials and all work orders to maximise performance and minimise delay.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability for all production‑related records.
- Track and report shift schedules, man‑hours, and productivity metrics.
- Ensure compliance to Safety, Quality, Food Safety and Environment requirements as specified in the global QHSE Management System with strict adherence to ISO and local regulatory authority.
- Ensure that all records and documents are up to date, fully traceable and compliant with ISO and management procedures.
- Perform any other job/task assigned by the Line Manager to accomplish department objectives.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing industry, preferably packaging or volume manufacturing.
- Experience in production planning, scheduling or a similar production/supply chain capacity.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and machine capacities.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Data analysis and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of quality systems and procedures.
- Analytical thinking and problem‑solving.
