ShiftLeader Production – PCBA
As a Shift Leader Production – PCBA, you oversee production activities during assigned shifts, ensuring that output, quality, and safety targets are achieved while supporting and guiding team members. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in PCBA manufacturing, and hands‑on experience with SMT and back‑end equipment, including pick and place machines, solder paste inspection (SPI), screen printers, automated optical inspection (AOI), manual assembly, wave soldering, and functional testing processes.
Whatyou’ll do
- Lead and coordinate all SMT & THT PCBA production activities from start until packaging and delivery to outbound docks during the shift to meet schedule.
- Monitor SMT line performance (cycle time, changeover, downtime, scrap) and take immediate corrective actions when deviations occur.
- Ensure proper and safe operation of SMT & THT equipment: laser marking, solder paste printer, SPI, pick & place, reflow, AOI, and support tools (stencil cleaner, paste mixer), selective, wave, robotics and manual soldering, depanelling, testing, washing, conformal coating and packaging.
- Provide on‑shift technical guidance to operators and area shift leader, resolve production and quality issues quickly, escalating to Engineering/Maintenance when required.
- Secure accuracy of real time production KPI’s such as Quality, OEE targets, Flexproductivity, OTD, CONC, etc.
- Promote and develop operators’ polyvalence or multi‑functionality across the various production processes.
- Coordinate closely with Maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain stable line operation.
- Enforce strict compliance with Work Instructions, quality checkpoints, ECO/MCO updates, and maintenance checklists.
- Conduct shift meetings to communicate goals, risks, issues, safety reminders, and quality alerts.
- Mentor and develop Area Shift Leaders and high‑potential team members to build leadership capability and support succession planning.
- Regular review with SCM team for SIOP, and production forecast.
- Support MES deployment in production.
- Support internal/customer audits and maintain SMT readiness for certification requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Logistics to secure smooth production flow and resolve on‑shift roadblocks.
- Enforce ESD controls, safety rules, IPC workmanship standards, and EATON MESH requirements.
- Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, Kaizen) to enhance productivity and quality.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Mechatronics engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in PCBA manufacturing, including supervisory or leadership roles.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role, ideally in a shift‑based production environment.
- Hands‑on experience with pick and place, SPI, solder screen printer, and AOI is preferred.
- Strong understanding of SMT and THT assembly processes, including reflow, wave, and selective soldering, as well as manual assembly.
- Familiar with inspection and testing methods such as AOI, ICT, and functional testing.
- Knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 standards and ESD control practices.
