Responsibilities
- Ensuring that he and his team are aware about all established procedures and programs for the facility.
- Ensuring his awareness about the existing International and Local standards and implementing wherever required in the facility.
- Investigating the possibility of non-conformities at any of the processing steps in case of any complaints.
- Verifying the production areas for the implementation of established procedures and ensuring production is under hygienic and controlled conditions.
- Planning and conducting Internal Audits as per the set standards.
- Conducting the major raw material supplier audits locally.
- Responsible for handling the third party and customer audits as per the requirements and preparing the corrective action reports.
- Conducting the Basic Food Hygiene and Essential Food Safety Training for Dubai and Abu Dhabi Food Handlers.
- Verifying records for the established procedures to ensure the production is safe and under hygienic controlled conditions.
- Ensuring the personal hygiene of staff as per GMPs Program.
- Ensuring cleaning and sanitization as per schedules.
- Ensuring the follow-up of Good Manufacturing Practices as per the GMPs Program.
- Ensuring proper safety, cleanliness and hygienic conditions of the Plants, machineries and equipments used in production as per the SSOPs.
- Verifying with Food Safety Team to ensure that they are implementing the OPRPs and CCPs in all the processing steps.
- Assigning the area of work, duty schedules and duty timings for Food Safety Team Members, Hygiene Officers, Record Keepers and Cleaning Staff.
- Ensuring that the Food Safety Team is working effectively for the proper implementation of Product quality and safety.
- Ensuring the implementation of KPIs established in each area.
- Attending the quality and safety complaints of the customers and verifying the corrective actions taken.
- Conducting regular meetings with Food Safety Team Members for any required changes in Food Safety plan for the improvement of the system.
- Reporting any incidents of non-conformities directly to the Senior Manager Production and COO – Bakery.
Quality Assurance Manager has the authority to initiate necessary actions including punishments to the Food Handlers in case of any violations or deviations in the CCPs, GMPs or SSOPs. He also has the authority to assign the area of work, duty schedules and duty timings for Food Safety Team Members, Hygiene Officers, Record Keepers and Cleaning Staff. He has the authority to initiate any incidents of non-conformities directly to the Senior Manager Production and to the COO – Bakery.
In the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Food Safety Incharge will be second-in-command.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the food industry.
