Position Summary
Food Safety Specialist support assists the Factory Quality Assurance Manager in the continuous improvement of the food safety and quality culture in the factory and supports the whole factory teams in achieving food‑safety related targets and objectives.
Day in the Life- Promote food safety awareness across the factory and contribute to competence development of food safety competences across the functions.
- Coordinate the implementation of the specific requirements of the FSSC
22000 and apply the continuous improvement cycle for the overall Food Safety Management System. - Establish and manage digital HACCP studies and HACCP‑related activities (e.g., validation, verification and activities of all product categories) and ensure an up‑to‑date HACCP in compliance with Dubai Municipality Food Code and other local regulations.
- Support the Nestlé Continuous Excellence program in the quest for zero defects, including root‑cause analysis after any food safety improvements.
- Support activities to achieve compliance with the Nestlé Quality Management System and Nestlé Food Safety Management System requirements and other applicable instructions and standards, ensuring benchmarking and sharing of best practices related to the Food Safety stream.
- Coordinate foreign body prevention and management activities, including investigations and use of detection/rejection equipment.
- Establish SOPs and working instructions related to Food Safety Prerequisite Programs and ensure proper cascading to the relevant stakeholders (e.g., allergen management, foreign‑body checklists).
- Support the project‑management process by ensuring that food‑safety requirements are included from the early stages of new‑product process development and executed through project stages.
- Support the implementation of the Food Defense Plan in the factory in coordination with all stakeholders.
- Deliver training for Basic Food Hygiene, HACCP, Food Defense, Allergen Management, Foreign Body Prevention, etc.
- Overall management of pathogen monitoring in the factory, ensuring compliance with internal requirements and local authority regulation.
- Conduct Good Manufacturing audits and verifications of compliance and effective implementation of HACCP, Allergen Management, and foreign‑body prevention in the factory according to the needs of the site and the designed food‑safety programmes.
- Academic
Experience:
University graduate or equivalent (preferred food‑science related). - Demonstrated competence in the specific field to support business requirements.
- Business
Experience:
Experience in successfully implementing food‑safety and quality‑assurance programs, including participation in project teams, leading part of a change effort, participating in audit teams and/or improvement projects with senior staff members, and establishing networks of peers in markets or factories.
