Assistant- Sheetfed Printer

Job Summary

The Assistant – Sheetfed Printer supports the operation and setup of sheetfed printing machines, ensuring smooth production flow and adherence to quality standards. This role is responsible for assisting in machine preparation, material handling, and basic maintenance activities while working closely with the printer/operator to achieve accurate, efficient, and timely print output. The position requires a strong understanding of printing fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to follow technical instructions in a fast-paced production environment.

• Assist in setting up sheetfed printing machines based on job specifications, including verification of printing plates, paper size, ink type, and job parameters
• Support basic machine calibration under the supervision of the printer/operator to ensure proper alignment, registration, and color consistency
• Collect, organize, and stage required materials such as paper, ink, and printing plates prior to production runs
• Verify material specifications against job orders to ensure accuracy and prevent production errors
• Handle storage and safe management of unused materials, ensuring proper labeling and inventory practices
• Feed paper into the machine during print runs and monitor smooth material flow to avoid interruptions
• Observe machine operations and assist in identifying misprints, alignment issues, or inconsistencies in output
• Perform visual quality checks during production to support adherence to defined standards
• Assist in routine cleaning of the printing press to maintain optimal operating conditions
• Support preventive maintenance activities as scheduled, ensuring machine readiness and longevity
• Coordinate with the printer/operator and production team to ensure timely execution of print jobs
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in compliance with safety and operational guidelines
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and quality control measures
• Accurately document basic production details and report any irregularities to the supervisor

• Diploma in Printing Technology
• 1–3 years of experience in sheetfed printing or related printing operations
• Basic understanding of sheetfed printing processes, materials, and machine operations
• Familiarity with printing terminology and job specifications
