Responsibilities
- Operate Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) equipment to join steel components for pole fabrication, ensuring precise weld penetration and structural integrity.
- Read and interpret complex fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications to accurately position and weld materials.
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and beveling to achieve optimal weld quality.
- Monitor welding parameters such as voltage, amperage, and travel speed, making adjustments as needed to maintain weld standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent, demonstrating foundational literacy and numeracy skills.
- Valid AWS Certified Welder certification or equivalent, showcasing proficiency in welding techniques.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands‑on experience specifically in Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) for heavy fabrication.
- Strong understanding of steel metallurgy and the properties of materials used in pole construction.
