We are seeking a commercially focused and highly entrepreneurial marketplace leader to take full ownership of marketplace trading performance across multiple digital platforms.
This role is responsible for building, scaling, and optimising marketplace operations as a standalone business unit, with accountability across revenue growth, profitability, trading performance, and commercial execution.
The ideal candidate combines strong commercial instincts with operational agility and a hands‑on trading mindset. You will play a key role in accelerating marketplace growth through strategic pricing, platform optimisation, inventory management, and high-impact trading initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Marketplace Trading & Commercial Performance- Own end-to-end marketplace trading performance across all platforms
- Deliver marketplace revenue, margin, and contribution targets
- Drive weekly, monthly, and seasonal trading plans aligned to business objectives
- Monitor marketplace performance daily and take rapid action to resolve risks or performance gaps
- Identify opportunities to improve sell-through, conversion, and overall trading efficiency
- Manage launches, promotional activity, markdown strategies, and inventory flow across channels
- Lead pricing strategy across marketplaces, regions, and product categories
- Optimise pricing dynamically to balance growth, competitiveness, and profitability
- Oversee promotional planning, markdown execution, and discount strategies
- Monitor competitor activity and react quickly to market changes
- Support decision-making through commercial analysis and trading insights
- Develop marketplace-specific growth strategies tailored to each platform
- Build strong relationships with marketplace partners to maximise visibility and commercial opportunities
- Leverage platform algorithms, search ranking, and conversion levers to improve performance
- Identify new regional and platform expansion opportunities
- Continuously evaluate marketplace trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity
- Ensure products are accurately listed, maintained, and trading effectively across all platforms
- Partner closely with merchandising, operations, marketing, finance, and technology teams
- Resolve operational and commercial issues proactively and efficiently
- Build scalable processes that improve execution, speed, and trading accuracy
- Maintain strong oversight of marketplace health, stock flow, and product availability
- Marketplace channels consistently achieve commercial growth targets
- Trading issues and underperformance are identified and resolved quickly
- Pricing and promotional activity drive both growth and profitability
- Marketplace operations run efficiently with strong execution standards
- Platform relationships contribute to increased visibility and trading opportunities
- Commercial decisions are made confidently and with speed
- Proven experience leading marketplace trading or digital commerce performance
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing revenue, margin, and trading KPIs
- Deep understanding of marketplace ecosystems, pricing strategies, and promotional mechanics
- Experience driving sell-through and marketplace growth through data‑led decision‑making
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate insights into commercial actions
- Hands‑on operator with a proactive, solution‑oriented approach
- Comfortable working within fast‑paced, high‑growth environments
- Experience across international marketplaces, particularly India and/or Russia, is advantageous
- Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills
