Job Title: Director, Corporate Communications
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Location: Dubai
Job PurposeEnsure that the Corporate Affairs strategy, plan and deliverables align with the corporate objectives and organisational strategy, enabling the function to become a real ‘strategic lever’ for the organisation, and taking into account key messages/ initiatives/ strategy of DIFCA, Dubai and the UAE.
Key Responsibilities Strategy Formulation, Implementation, and Planning- In conjunction with the COO lead the development of the Corporate Affairs strategy and plans including implementation of the strategy in line with the vision, mission, values and corporate objectives. This includes the full raft of internal, external, digital, social media, events, and thought leadership touchpoints; upgrading the function, driving output and performance, and creating opportunities to innovate.
- Ensure that the overall Corporate Affairs strategy is cascaded into the annual business plans for the departments and the performance is monitored annually to ensure business plans are in line with the overall strategy.
- Monitor and evaluate progress i.e. Reputation & Brand Impact.
- Set up metrics and KPIs to track the effectiveness of implemented strategies and initiatives. Regularly review progress against goals and adjust strategies as needed.
- Focus on building a full-capability, business-facing fully integrated communications function including, oversees all Corporate Affairs activities from a Communications perspective including:
- Media Relations & Social:
Oversee daily press and media engagement incl. Social media, develop content for external platforms, monitor its impact and manage messages, support profiling of the leadership team. - Internal Communications & Digital:
Oversee internal and digital platforms. Ensure that platforms and content are engaging, forward thinking and serving the needs of the business. - Events:
Oversee and manage big flagship brand, sponsorship events, executive communication, thought leadership. Ensure efficient and excellent execution of our events, both external and internal. - Strategic Communications & Content:
Deliver content across channels that is consistent, considered, informed, up-to-date and of superior quality. This includes speeches, thought-leadership, web content, social content, blog posts, presentations, develop new templates & tools. - Crisis Communications:
Identify key issues, craft transparency messages, coordinate responses, and monitor impact; help guide through challenging circumstances. - CSR:
Reinforce the CSR commitment through market, colleague and community education and engagement. - Identify key brand and reputation drivers and monitor and evaluate progress through reputation & brand impact reporting.
- Set up metrics and KPIs to track the effectiveness of implemented strategies and initiatives.
- Regularly review progress against goals and adjust strategies as needed.
- Manage the team by fostering a collaborative culture: encourage cross-departmental collaboration to ensure cohesive and effective execution of corporate affairs strategies.
- Build and nurture a supportive environment for team members to share ideas, insights and feedback.
- Build strong relations and engage with local, regional, and international groups and individuals who are affected by or have an interest in the regulatory activities.
- Key stakeholders include financial institutions, regulatory and government bodies, government agencies, investors and the broader business communities, media, thought leaders and colleagues.
- Ensure regular communication, transparency, and responsiveness to their opportunities, needs and concerns.
- Ensure achievement of functional objectives through leadership of the departments and by setting of individual objectives, KPIS, managing performance, recruiting qualified staff, developing, and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal to maximise performance.
