Job Purpose
To provide comprehensive primary healthcare and emergency first aid to employees residing in company accommodation. The role requires the nurse to reside within the accommodation complex to ensure 24/7 health coverage, manage the designated clinic, promote wellness, and ensure strict adherence to Dubai Health Authority (DHA) standards and Dubai Municipality health codes for labour or staff housing.
Clinical Care- Emergency Response – Provide immediate first aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), and emergency stabilization for workplace or residential injuries such as falls, burns, cardiac events prior to hospital referral.
- Outpatient Management – Attend to minor illnesses (fever, colds, headaches, gastric issues), perform vital sign monitoring (BP, sugar, temperature), and administer non-prescription medications according to DHA Standing Orders.
- Chronic Disease Management – Monitor employees with chronic conditions (diabetes, hypertension), track vitals, and remind them about medication compliance.
- Health Assessments – Conduct pre‑employment and periodic health checks for staff residing in the facility.
- Clinic Licensing – Ensure the company accommodation clinic maintains valid DHA licensing and passes all unannounced inspections.
- Regulatory Reporting – Report notifiable infectious diseases (e.g., tuberculosis, COVID-19, hepatitis) to the DHA immediately; manage isolation protocols if required.
- Medical Records – Maintain confidential electronic or physical records detailing visit logs, medication dispensation, and referrals for each employee.
- First Aid Readiness – Inspect, restock, and manage inventory for all first aid boxes located in the accommodation common areas, kitchens, and recreation rooms per Dubai Municipality requirements.
- Hygiene & Sanitation – Conduct health inspections of shared facilities (galleys, bathrooms, dormitories) to prevent vector-borne diseases and ensure potable water safety.
- Wellness Campaigns – Organize health talks on endemic risks in Dubai (heat stress prevention, hand hygiene, dental hygiene, nutritional advice).
- Vaccination Drives – Liaise with the DHA and local hospitals to coordinate annual flu vaccinations or required booster shots for employees.
- Insurance Liaison – Coordinate with medical insurance providers to register new employees, process medical claims, and arrange ambulance transport for emergencies.
- Leave Management – Manage sick leave requests and verify medical certificates provided by employees to ensure compliance with UAE Labour Law.
- Daily Reporting – Submit a daily/monthly morbidity report, including number of cases and types of illnesses, to the HR department.
- Education & Licensing – Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution (MOE recognized);
Valid DHA License (RN) or DHA Eligibility Letter. - Experience – Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in UAE. Preferred:
Experience in Occupational Health, Emergency Room (ER), or Home Care nursing; experience working in a multicultural, labour-intensive environment in the UAE. - Skills & Competencies – Technical: proficiency in phlebotomy, cannulation, suture removal, and wound debridement (highly desirable).
Soft Skills:
high level of confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, patience, and ability to handle stress. - Language – Fluent English (spoken/written); knowledge of Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, or Tagalog is a significant advantage to communicate with diverse staff.
- Residency Obligation – Must be willing to reside in the company-provided accommodation and work flexible/on‑call hours including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Compliance – 100% DHA inspection readiness (licenses, logs, first aid kits).
- Documentation – Zero data breaches; 100% completion of daily log sheets.
- Cost Control – Reduction in unnecessary Emergency Room visits via effective on‑site triage.
- Employee Satisfaction – Positive feedback on clinic accessibility and staff bedside manner.
- Accommodation – Private, self‑contained room (including utilities/internet) provided free of charge within the employee housing complex.
- On‑Call Duty – Nurse is considered on‑call during off‑hours for true medical emergencies only (defined by DHA triage guidelines).
- Schedule – Typically 8–10 hours per day for routine clinic hours + rotating on‑call for emergencies.
- Reporting Line – Reports directly to the HR Manager regarding non‑clinical issues; clinically supervised by a nominated DHA Physician (external or part-time).
