Job DescriptionThe Supplier Quality Manager is accountable for the overall quality and timely delivery of the supplier's purchase order. Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for quality control part and covering all activities to ensure that requirements from quality assurance will be met.
Manages the team of assigned SQEs on the project. Supported by a dedicated SQE team he is responsible for ensuring that individual third parties comply with agreed schedules, monitoring actual progress, reporting any deviations and working with the supplier to implement corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery.
Reports to the Project Procurement Manager on the actual progress of the purchase order, any potential deviations (in terms of quality and timing), and the agreed-upon remedial plans.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Performance Accountability- Accountable for ensuring the On-Time Delivery (OTD) and compliance with quality requirement from purchase order to shipment readiness.
- Establish solid relationships with suppliers to ensure compliance and optimal performance.
- Create and update the Quality Control Plan (QCP) workshop according to standard and project requirements.
- Ensure the application and compliance of the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) in supplier workshops.
- Plan and lead supplier quality inspections as required.
- Review quality inspection reports to collect all relevant information needed by the project.
- Oversee all supplier progress based on Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) reports and other information.
- Identify and mitigate any potential discrepancies in progress and quality.
- Establish strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure optimal performance in quality and time.
- Identify potential issues such as delays and proactively find solutions with suppliers to guarantee OTD and key milestones achievement.
- Report and, if necessary, elevate expediting issues to SPM and/or SQM.
- Closely cooperate with SQEs to ensure accurate status of the supplier's actual progress.
- Identify, remedy, and follow up with all stakeholders in case of potential deviations (time and quality) from the agreed schedule in collaboration with the SQE.
- Collaborate with SCM in case of commercial and contractual discussions with suppliers.
- Report and collaborate with PPM to provide all relevant supplier QC and OTD information.
- Contribute to lessons learned on supplier performance to support project execution improvement.
- Support the department in achieving objectives and lead the team operationally and functionally.
- Support suppliers’ quality development initiatives.
- Ensure the accuracy and level of detail of all Quality and Expediting reports to projects.
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) of the manufacturing module and release items.
- Ensure that project stakeholders can access quality and expediting reports within the required tools (LMS, PIRS, monthly project meetings).
- Be aware of the HSE requirements relevant to their role and implement and comply with them.
- Technical Degree is a minimum, preferred bachelor’s degree in business field or Mechanical Engineering (Master in Welding is a plus)
- ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 lead Auditor (is a plus)
- Welding specialist or welding engineer e.g. CSWIP, IWT, (IWE/EWE is a plus)
- Knowledge of Surface treatment processes (certification is a plus)
