Job Purpose
The Akzo Nobel Site Coordinator role aims to provide graduates with a structured development pathway within a leading global manufacturing organization. A Site IMS Coordinator ensures the site operates in full compliance with Quality, Safety, and Environmental standards by coordinating audits, maintaining documentation, driving corrective actions, supporting risk management, and promoting continuous improvement.
KeyAccountabilities
Manage and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS). Ensure the site complies with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.). Maintain the IMS documentation structure—policies, SOPs, work instructions, forms, manuals. Ensure controlled documents are updated, approved, version‑controlled, and properly communicated. Conduct periodic reviews to ensure relevance of documents.
Coordinate internal and external audits. Develop and execute the annual internal audit plan. Train and guide internal auditors. Conduct internal audits across departments (Production, Warehouse, QC, Maintenance, COS, etc.). Coordinate certification and surveillance audits with external bodies. Track and close audit findings with clear corrective actions.
Drive compliance with HSE, Quality, and regulatory requirements. Ensure site compliance with corporate standards. Monitor implementation of legal and regulatory requirements related to environmental permits, waste management, chemical safety, fire safety, occupational health. Keep a compliance register on Enablon up to date.
Lead corrective actions and continuous improvement. Facilitate RCA (root cause analysis) sessions using tools like 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA. Track non‑conformities from incidents, audits, customer complaints, or process deviations. Drive CAPAs and ensure timely closure. Identify process improvement opportunities aligned to Lean CI culture.
Data management, reporting, and performance monitoring. Maintain IMS performance indicators, KPI dashboards for quality defects, complaints, NCRs; safety LTIs, near misses, observations; environmental waste, emissions, energy. Report monthly KPIs to management.
Support incident management and risk assessments. Assist in creating and updating incident and risk assessments. Monitor the effectiveness of implemented controls.
Coordinate management reviews. Organize periodic management review meetings. Compile agendas, KPI summaries, audit results, risk evaluations, and improvement plans. Record minutes and follow up on agreed actions.
Maintain documented evidence and records. Ensure all records (calibration, training, inspections, waste disposal, emergency drills) are properly filed and accessible. Maintain electronic and physical archives in compliance with ISO IMS requirements.
Cross‑functional coordination. Work closely with Production, QC, Maintenance, Warehouse, COS, HR, Supply Chain. Ensure all departments align with IMS standards and requirements.
- Diploma in Science or Engineering discipline.
