Job Summary

The Lab Technician is responsible for carrying out routine laboratory testing, sampling, analysis, documentation, and quality control checks for raw camel milk, processed milk, dairy products, ingredients, packaging materials, water, environmental samples, and finished products. The role supports food safety, product quality, regulatory compliance, and timely release decisions in accordance with Camelicious quality systems and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities Sampling / Testing
  • Collect, receive, label, and prepare samples of raw milk, in‑process products, finished goods, ingredients, packaging materials, water, and environmental swabs as per approved procedures.
  • Perform routine chemical, physical, microbiological, and organoleptic tests as assigned.
  • Conduct tests such as acidity, pH, fat, SNF, protein, density, freezing point, antibiotic residue, microbial counts, hygiene swabs, and other dairy‑related tests based on laboratory scope.
  • Ensure testing is completed accurately and within required timelines to support production and product release.
Laboratory Documentation
  • Record test results clearly, accurately, and immediately in approved formats, logbooks, systems, or reports.
  • Report out‑of‑specification results, abnormal trends, contamination risks, or quality deviations to the supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain sample records, reagent records, calibration records, media preparation records, equipment logs, and test reports.
  • Support traceability documentation for audits, inspections, complaints, and internal investigations.
Equipment, Reagents & Calibration
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as pH meters, weighing balances, incubators, autoclaves, centrifuges, analyzers, water baths, microscopes, and other testing instruments.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is cleaned, calibrated, verified, and maintained as per schedule.
  • Prepare reagents, media, standards, and laboratory consumables as per approved methods.
  • Monitor stock levels of lab consumables, chemicals, media, glassware, and testing materials and inform the supervisor for replenishment.
Food Safety, Hygiene & Compliance
  • Follow GMP, GLP, HACCP, food safety, laboratory safety, hygiene, and company quality procedures.
  • Handle samples, chemicals, microbiological materials, waste, and glassware safely.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of laboratory work areas.
  • Support internal audits, external audits, product investigations, shelf‑life studies, validation activities, and quality improvement projects.
Coordination
  • Coordinate with Production, Farm, Stores, Maintenance, and Quality teams for sample collection, testing status, deviation follow‑up, and release‑related communication.
  • Support customer complaint investigations and root cause analysis where required.
  • Perform any other laboratory or quality‑related duties assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor or Quality Manager.
Education & Experience

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Laboratory Science, or related discipline. 2–4 years of laboratory experience, preferably in dairy, food manufacturing, FMCG, beverage, or microbiology laboratory environment.

Technical Skills
  • Dairy testing, microbiological testing, GLP, GMP, HACCP awareness, laboratory equipment handling, data recording.
Certification
  • HACCP, Food Safety, ISO 22000, or Laboratory Safety training preferred.
Language Requirement

English required.

Physical Requirement

Ability to work in laboratory and production sampling areas; shift work may be required.
