Position OverviewThe Urban Analyst will play a critical role in supporting data‑driven urban planning initiatives. This individual will analyze diverse datasets, extract meaningful insights, and contribute to urban development projects across the MENA region and beyond. As part of the Sila Cities team, the analyst will collaborate with experts in urban planning, AI, and data science to deliver impactful results for our clients.
Key Responsibilities Data Analysis and Interpretation- Analyze spatial, demographic, economic, and environmental datasets to identify trends and patterns.

- Integrate data from diverse sources (GIS, census, mobile cell data, surveys, etc.) to support urban planning projects.
- Provide actionable insights related to land use, transport, housing, and sustainability.
- Support community sentiment analysis by correlating qualitative and quantitative data.
- Conduct research on urban trends, policies, and planning best practices.
- Prepare high‑quality presentations, dashboards, and reports to communicate findings.
- Work with cross‑functional teams, including data scientists and urban planners, to solve complex urban challenges.
- Engage with clients to understand their goals and tailor insights to their needs.
- Contribute to specific project phases, such as baseline analysis, scenario modeling, and performance monitoring.
- Support deliverables, including visual maps, infographics, and technical documentation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, or related fields.
- 2–5 years of experience in urban analysis, planning, or related domains.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and data visualization tools.
- Experience with statistical software or programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of urban challenges in the MENA region is highly desirable.
