We are seeking a skilled and passionate Junior Sous Chef – Sushi to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in sushi preparation, excellent knife skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation. This role supports the Sous Chef and ensures smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes in line with company standards.
- Assist the Sous Chef in managing daily kitchen operations.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and hygiene standards (HACCP compliance).
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control.
- Maintain consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.
- Support menu development and seasonal offerings.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience as Sushi Chef or in a similar role (minimum [2–3] years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques.
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
