Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Order Taking:
- Greet guests, seat them, and provide menus.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately, including modifying orders based on guest preferences.
- Provide information on ingredients, allergens, and daily specials.
- Up-sell items like appetizers, desserts, or beverages.
- Service & Food Delivery:
- Deliver food and drinks from the kitchen to tables.
- Check in with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Clear dirty dishes, glasses, and cutlery from tables.
- Cashiering & POS Operations:
- Process cash, credit card, and debit payments accurately using a POS system.
- Issue receipts and provide change.
- Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Process refunds or exchanges when necessary.
- Maintenance & Operations:
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including wiping tables and setting up stations.
- Restock supplies (condiments, napkins, cutlery).
- Answer phones for take-away orders.
- Experience: Proven experience as a waiter, waitress, or cashier in the hospitality industry.
- Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and basic mathematical skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with POS software and food safety regulations.
