Overview Of The Role
The Sales Assistant at Toys R Us is responsible for driving sales and ensuring a positive customer experience through excellent service and efficient operational duties. The role involves maintaining visual presentation standards and cleanliness, providing detailed product information, and enhancing sales with exceptional customer interaction. Success in this position is measured by the ability to create a welcoming store environment, educate and assist customers effectively, and contribute to team goals.
The Sales Assistant also plays a vital role in supporting store operations and contributing to a positive shopping experience.
Store Presentation and Cleanliness
- Creates a sparkling clean and organized environment by maintaining store standards and cleanliness.
- Maintains cash wrap cleanliness.
- Adheres to dress code, creating a positive first impression for customers.
Customer Interaction and Service
- Greets customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile and sincere non-business-like greeting.
- Provides customers with current relevant information about the product.
- Provides quality service in fitting rooms, follows up with customers in a timely manner.
- Offers efficient service at the cash wrap, offers gift cards, captures customer information in the database.
- Thanks all customers sincerely for shopping as they exit the store and invites them back.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to use CAD packages such as AutoCAD and Photoshop.
- Prior retail sales experience, preferably in a toy or similar environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
The Role
- High School Degree.
- 1-2 years of retail sales experience.
- Ability to use computer-aided design (CAD) packages, such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, Illustrator, or Photoshop to create visuals and plans.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand.
