Role PurposeThe Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of a Wolfi's store, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, strong sales performance, and smooth operational execution. This role plays a key leadership position on the shop floor, helping to motivate and guide the retail team while maintaining high standards of service, product knowledge, and operational efficiency.
The Assistant Store Manager acts as a key support to the Store Manager, stepping in to lead the store when required and helping to drive a high-performance, customer-first culture aligned with the Wolfi's brand and community. The role structure and leadership responsibilities align with the operational model outlined for Store Managers.
Responsibilities Sales & Customer Experience- Support the Store Manager in driving store sales targets and key performance indicators.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and expert product guidance to every customer.
- Lead by example on the shop floor, ensuring a welcoming and engaging customer experience.
- Monitor daily sales activity and assist in identifying opportunities to increase revenue.
- Handle customer queries, complaints, and service challenges professionally and efficiently.
- Support upselling, cross-selling, and product recommendations across bikes, accessories, and services.
- Assist in leading, coaching, and motivating the retail team.
- Support onboarding and training of new team members to the standard of the Wolfi's way.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to ensure team members meet service and sales expectations.
- Help conduct regular team briefings and maintain strong internal communication.
- Support performance management through feedback, coaching, and development conversations.
- Step into leadership responsibilities when the Store Manager is not present.
- Ensure store operations run efficiently in line with company policies and procedures.
- Assist in managing inventory, stock accuracy, and product replenishment.
- Support visual merchandising standards to maintain a premium retail environment.
- Ensure the store remains clean, organised, and safe at all times.
- Assist with scheduling, rostering, and timekeeping processes.
- Support the preparation of sales reports and operational updates for management.
- Represent Wolfi's within the local cycling and endurance sports community.
- Support store events, group rides, and brand activations.
- Help create an inclusive environment that welcomes cyclists of all levels.
- Promote Wolfi's brand values through every customer and community interaction.
- 3–5 years of experience in retail, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or senior retail role.
- Strong passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to support and motivate a retail team in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of retail operations, stock management, and merchandising.
- Interest in cycling or endurance sports.
- Familiarity with POS systems, retail software, and sales reporting.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive and reliable team leader who thrives on the shop floor.
