We are looking for a commercially driven Assistant Manager – Buyer to support the planning and execution of the Menswear category buying strategy. The role will be responsible for assortment planning, vendor management, trend analysis, inventory control, and managing the Open-to-Buy (OTB) budget to ensure optimal product availability, strong sell-through, and achievement of sales and margin targets

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of the Menswear category buying strategy aligned with seasonal and financial plans.
  • Manage and monitor the Open-to-Buy (OTB) budget, ensuring purchasing decisions align with sales forecasts, inventory levels, and financial targets.
  • Analyze sales performance, stock levels, and sell-through rates to make informed buying and replenishment decisions.
  • Conduct market and trend analysis to identify product opportunities and emerging menswear trends.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships, including negotiating prices, lead times, and product quality standards.
  • Work closely with merchandising, planning, design, and marketing teams for product launches and seasonal collections.
  • Ensure optimal assortment planning, balancing fashion trends, core items, and seasonal demand.
  • Prepare and present weekly/monthly buying reports, OTB tracking, and category performance analysis.
  • Monitor inventory turnover, markdown strategy, and stock aging to maximize profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in buying or merchandising, preferably within Menswear/Apparel retail.
  • Strong knowledge of OTB planning, inventory management, and retail financial metrics.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and retail planning systems.
  • Strong understanding of menswear trends, fabrics, and garment construction.
