Job Overview – Department Manager / Duty Manager – Dubai, UAE

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Department Manager / Duty Manager to oversee daily operations, team performance, and customer satisfaction within a fast-paced retail environment in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This leadership role involves managing staff, optimizing sales performance, maintaining visual standards, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.

• Coach and guide the team daily to deliver outstanding customer service at the department level.

• Act as a customer service champion—supporting, training, and developing the team to provide a world-class shopping experience.

• Address customer feedback and ensure timely follow-up and resolution within the department.

• Engage with customers on the floor, ensuring a welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful shopping environment.

• Oversee and execute opening and closing procedures of the store in line with company standards.

• Plan and manage staff coverage to ensure all store operations are smooth and efficient.

• Implement and maintain company visual merchandising standards and store layouts.

• Conduct daily floor walks, drive sales through coaching, and optimize performance with a focus on conversion and basket value.

• Ensure all safety, cash handling, and operational procedures are strictly followed in line with company SOPs.

• Onboard and train new hires, ensuring full induction and role clarity.

• Conduct regular Performance Development Reviews (PDRs) and address HR issues promptly and professionally.

• Lead by example, resolving conflicts and motivating team members to exceed performance expectations.

• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities for team growth.

• Strong understanding of customer service principles and sales techniques.

• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team.

• Proven communication and interpersonal skills.

• Results-driven with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.

• Competent in MS Word and Excel for reporting and analysis.

• Able to work under pressure, handle challenges, and make informed decisions.

• Comfortable with occasional heavy lifting and physical activity.

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred in Business, Retail Management, or related field).

• 5–7 years’ experience in a similar leadership role within the retail sector.

• Strong commercial acumen and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, drive results, and uphold company values.
