We are seeking a highly commercial, dynamic, and trend-driven Manager – Buying (Women’s Casual Wear) for our women's casual apparel category.
The ideal candidate possesses sharp business acumen, a proven track record of developing product ranges for the womens casual category, and an innate understanding of commercial women's fashion. Experience catering to a diverse, global consumer base—navigating international trends, regional sizing nuances, and varied seasonal preferences—is highly advantageous.
This role works in close alignment with the Senior Buyer / AGM Buying to define the overarching category vision and execute high-performing retail strategies.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Alignment & Reporting
- Work closely with the Senior Buyer / AGM Buying to build, refine, and execute the seasonal strategy, ensuring the category goals align with the broader brand trajectory.
- Collaborate with senior buying leadership on major seasonal milestones, milestone reviews, and post-season analysis to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop and execute a robust, customer-centric seasonal buying strategy specifically for Women’s Casual Apparel
- Conduct continuous global trend research, competitive benchmarking, and consumer insights analysis to build a highly relevant, agile product range that resonates across different international markets.
- Curate and adapt assortments to meet the needs of a global consumer base, balancing universal casual trends with regional preferences regarding modesty, fabric weights, and sizing.
- Partner closely with Design and Planning teams to translate global runway, streetwear, and social media trends into commercial, brand-aligned assortments.
Financial & Business Management
- Full P&L accountability for the Women’s Casual category, ensuring gross margin, revenue, inventory turn, and sell-through targets are met across all targeted regions.
- Monitor weekly sales performance, deep-dive into key performance indicators (KPIs), and swiftly implement trading actions (markdowns, re-orders, injections) to maximize global profitability.
- Manage the Open-to-Buy (OTB) budget efficiently in close collaboration with the Merchandising/Planning teams to balance regional inventory levels.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with global and regional apparel manufacturers, factories, and mills.
- Negotiate product costs, margins, payment terms, and critical path timelines to optimize profitability and speed-to-market.
- Proactively source new suppliers to drive fabric innovation, sustainable options, and cost-efficient production across diverse sourcing hubs.
- Oversee the end-to-end sampling and product development process, ensuring garment fit, silhouette, and construction meet stringent brand quality and international compliance standards.
- Manage the critical path rigorously—ensuring timely order placement, production tracking, and logistics follow‑ups to guarantee on‑time delivery for complex, multi‑region seasonal drops.
- Collaborate with Visual Merchandising (VM), Marketing, and E-commerce/Retail teams to ensure cohesive storytelling, campaign alignment, and impactful product launches globally.
- Partner with Quality Control (QC) teams to resolve technical garment issues and maintain high standards of product consistency and durability.
