POS Checkout Cashier

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1-2 years of proven experience operating POS cash registers within a high-traffic retail, hypermarket, or cooperative setting.
• Strong numerical agility to quickly calculate exact change and perfectly balance the cash till at the end of exhausting 10-hour shifts.
• Expertise in utilizing counterfeit detection machines and securely processing various payment methods including credit cards and loyalty points.
• Fluent English communication is required; the ability to speak conversational Arabic or South Asian languages is a distinct advantage for customer service.

• Scan a high volume of grocery items rapidly during peak weekend rushes, ensuring every barcode is accurately captured by the system.
• Resolve immediate customer disputes regarding mismatched price tags, promotional discounts, and return policies directly at the counter.
• Assume complete financial liability for the assigned cash drawer, reporting any discrepancies directly to the branch shift supervisor.
• Maintain a completely sanitized and organized checkout area in strict compliance with Dubai Municipality retail hygiene standards.
