We are seeking an experienced Category Manager – Butchery & Fishery to lead and oversee the fresh meat and seafood category within a retail environment. The role is responsible for developing and executing category strategies that drive sales, profitability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction across fresh meat, poultry, seafood, and related products.
Role SummaryThe successful candidate will manage assortment planning, pricing strategies, supplier relationships, promotional activities, and inventory optimization while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role requires strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams including marketing, supply chain, and store operations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute category strategies for Butchery & Fishery products, including assortment planning, pricing, and promotional activities.
- Optimize product selection and category performance to maximize sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct market analysis and category performance reviews to identify consumer trends, innovation opportunities, and range expansion possibilities.
- Manage supplier negotiations and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure favorable commercial terms, product quality, and stock availability.
- Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, and store operations teams to improve product visibility, customer engagement, and operational execution.
- Analyze inventory and sales data to forecast demand, optimize supply planning, and maintain ideal stock levels.
- Oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial performance of the category.
- Ensure all products comply with food safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members while driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Set clear KPIs, objectives, and performance expectations aligned with business goals.

- Professional certifications in Category Management, Retail Management, or Supply Chain Management are an advantage.
