Job DescriptionTo ensure a safe environment for the hotel staff and guests and protect the assets of the hotel.
KeyRoles & Responsibilities
- Establish chain of command and responsibility; directly report to the Assistant Operations Manager, Assistant Director, and Director of Security.
- Perform duties according to the duty roster prepared by the Director of Security or, in their absence, the Assistant Director of Security.
- Adopt a “Service Oriented” approach to harmoniously support the hotel’s hospitality concept.
- Be accountable for the overall performance of on‑duty security personnel and all security‑related matters.
- Promote a “gentleman” image for the security service rather than a militaristic one.
- Act on behalf of the hotelkeeper on security matters.
- Protect guests, staff, and their property.
- Assist other departments in delivering customer services outside primary duties.
- Serve as the hotel’s host by welcoming arrivals and bidding farewell to departures.
- Greet guests and offer assistance.
- Guide guests who are uncertain of hotel locations.
- Inform and upsell other hotel facilities to visitors.
- Train new LPOs to impart job knowledge and skills.
- Update regular SOP exams.
- Inspect and brief staff before deployment to ensure neatness and readiness.
- Enforce discipline: warn, counsel, or report incidents of indiscipline; refer incapacitated officers to the company clinic.
- Ensure staff understand instructions delivered at briefings.
- Conduct at least two patrols per shift to ensure officers perform duties efficiently.
- Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and file cases regarding criminal acts, losses, staff misconduct, and matters of interest to management.
- Preserve department integrity by monitoring officers and gathering intelligence.
- Use surveillance to enforce house rules and track movements of suspected staff.
- Develop informants for security intelligence.
- Maintain peace and order within premises and handle criminals, trespassers, or difficult characters.
- Participate in special functions or operations for VIPs and other stakeholders.
- Keep all team leaders posted on security matters.
- Inspect equipment (cameras, fire‑fighting, walkie‑talkies, CCTV, etc.) to ensure proper functioning.
- Perform regular checks on perimeter defenses, fire‑fighting equipment, and other security assets.
- Maintain inventory of pocket books, security desk occurrence books, gate passes, security passes, keys, and key registers.
- Prepare meal rosters for individual shifts.
- Report daily security activities in a Daily Security Report.
- Attend pre‑shift briefings thirty minutes before each shift.
- Attend approval courses conducted by the Hotel Training Department.
- Attend mandatory meetings and in‑service training.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
- Post‑secondary education with professional security qualifications preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years in a similar role, preferably within a 5‑star hotel; at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
