Position SummaryWe are seeking a seasoned Game Analytics expert for a 3–6 month advisory contract. Your mission is to design, implement, and transfer a world-class analytics system to our internal team. This is ahands‑on, foundational role: you will build the frameworks, elevate insight quality, and mentor the team to ensure they can operate independently after your engagement. You will act as a system architect, strategic challenger, and capability accelerator—not a line manager.
CoreMission
- Build and operationalize a scalable, best-practice game analytics system within 6 months.
- Elevate the quality of insights and decision-making across game, product, and live operations teams.
- Enable the internal data team to operate independently and with confidence after the contract ends.
- Co-design an end-to-end analytics framework covering gameplay, retention, monetization, and live operations.
- Define north-star metrics, core KPIs, performance benchmarks, and early-warning indicators.
- Review and refine event tracking plans and data schemas for analytical depth and scalability.
- Critically review analyses and insights from the team, ensuring they answer the "so what?" and lead to clear actions.
- Act as a strategic challenger to the Head of Analytics and senior analysts, identifying blind spots and elevating rigor.
- Co-create A/B testing and experimentation frameworks, from hypothesis design to success metrics.
- Guide the interpretation of experiment results and optimization of live events and monetization strategies.
- Introduce international best practices to avoid common analytical pitfalls.
- Coach analysts through real production cases—practical training, not theory.
- Document and standardize analytics playbooks, insight templates, and workflows.
- Assess team maturity and provide a roadmap for continued improvement post‑engagement.
- A clear, documented, and adopted game analytics framework.
- Measurable improvement in insight consistency, depth, and actionability.
- Smoothly running analytics and experimentation processes.
- Internal team confidently making independent, data‑driven decisions.
- Significant reduction in reliance on external advisors.
- 10+ years in game analytics, with deep expertise in mobile, free‑to‑play (F2P), or live‑service games.
- Proven track record of building or overhauling analytics systems in a live production environment.
- Experience advising and collaborating with cross‑functional leadership (Game Directors, Product, Monetization).
- Deep understanding of gameplay loops, retention mechanics, monetization models, and live operations.
- Expert knowledge of game metrics, cohort analysis, KPI design, and A/B testing.
- Strong familiarity with tracking design and data pipeline logic (coding not required).
- Exceptional coaching and communication skills, with the ability to challenge, mentor, and tell compelling stories with data.
- Comfortable operating in high‑ambiguity, fast‑paced environments.
- Experience working within international game studios or publishers.
- Background in joining teams at early‑stage or high‑growth scaling phases.
- Exposure to multiple game genres or platforms.
