Yourday to day
We are currently recruiting for a full‑time Personal Trainer/Fitness Instructor to join our enthusiastic team at voco Dubai. As a Fitness Instructor, you will support the section. Instruct and coach guests with various exercise activities and the fundamentals of sports. Assess individual physical fitness levels and encourage set and reaching fitness goals. Demonstrate techniques and methods of participation. Observe and inform of corrective measures necessary to improve skills and physique.
- Interview, measure, and evaluate guests’ abilities, needs, and physical condition and suggest suitable fitness programs to meet requirements. Monitor individual progress and adapt programs as needed.
- Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the optimum use of exercise equipment.
- Continuously update oneself on sports training/instructional methods and procedures and apply them appropriately in situations.
- Be knowledgeable on principles and methods of sports training, design, teaching and instructions, and the measurement of training effects.
- Have the ability to exert yourself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath.
- Have the ability to exert muscle force repeatedly and continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue.
- Design training programs and lead various recreational/aerobics activities.
- Administer staff and client scheduling for maximum revenue generation and profitability.
- Supervise all exercise programs and ensure adherence to specified techniques.
- Be flexible to cover shifts of various positions, within the spa and health club, and perform all related functions attached.
- Ensure all guests are received in a courteous, professional manner and extended a high level of customer care.
- Be well‑versed in explaining the difference between each equipment and fitness program and recommend appropriately based on guests’ needs.
- Provide guests with information regarding nutrition, weight control, and lifestyle issues.
- Maintain records of guests’ feedback and preferences to better serve them on their future visits. Guest information is kept in strict confidentiality and used only in the best interest of the hotel.
- Handle guest queries and complaints. Resolve issues in the best interest of the hotel.
- Maintain appropriate attitude and physique to reflect and promote the image of the health club.
- Train colleagues in the necessary skills, new techniques, and procedures to perform their duties with maximum efficiency.
- Continuously train colleagues to have extensive knowledge of all equipment and services so that they are able to use and recommend correctly.
- Plan and implement programs of activities for groups and/or individuals.
- Maintain records of participant performance. Manage the upkeep of relevant records and documentation within the department.
- Implement the observance of proper clothing and shoes within the gym.
- Administer emergency first aid, wrap injuries and refer injured guests to physicians.
- Participate in daily shift briefings to be aware of policies and procedures, special events/promotions, further improvement plans, and employee concerns.
