Responsible for overseeing all marine activities on an offshore installation, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations. This role safeguards the unit’s stability, marine logistics, regulatory compliance, and emergency readiness while providing leadership to all deck and marine teams involved in day-to-day operations.

• Continuously track weather, sea conditions, and vessel movement; keep the OIM informed of any conditions that could impact safety or drilling operations.
• Perform and verify weight control, stability calculations, and load management using both manual methods and approved software.
• Coordinate all helicopter operations and marine logistics, ensuring safe transfer of personnel, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure navigational systems, communication equipment, and related marine instruments are properly maintained and operational.
• Track consumption and stock levels of fuel, water, and other critical consumables.
• Oversee deck equipment including cranes, ensuring safe operation, certification compliance, and preventive maintenance.
• Verify that lifesaving appliances, firefighting systems, and other emergency equipment remain fully operational and ready for use.
• Lead planned inspections of hull spaces, structural components, and marine safety systems.
• Maintain accurate marine logs and reports; ensure timely submission to onshore support teams.
• Support proper execution of the Preventive Maintenance System and verify accurate record keeping.
• Ensure all personnel understand and comply with the platform’s safety management system.

• Approximately 15+ years of offshore marine or barge supervisory experience.
• Marine engineering, nautical science, or equivalent professional background.
• Valid offshore medical and offshore survival certification (e.g., BOSIET or equivalent).
• STCW basic safety training or equivalent maritime safety standards.
• Valid marine command or supervisory certificate appropriate to the installation type.
• Additional marine qualifications such as lifeboat proficiency, stability training, or radio operations certification (GMDSS or equivalent) depending on asset requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of offshore regulatory requirements, maritime legislation, and classification rules.
