Import Logistics Coordinator helps drive operational excellence by fostering proactive coordination with suppliers and delivering strategic, real-time insights into product management and sales teams, ensuring seamless and efficient import operations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review and process incoming purchase orders, ensuring they are accurately recorded and ready for initiating the Letter of Credit (LC) with suppliers.
- Track the status of current shipments and follow up with suppliers and shipping companies to ensure on-time deliveries and prevent out-of-stock situations.
- Review and address any discrepancies in Letters of Credit by processing amendments or resolving issues to avoid delays in shipment processing.
- Maintain and update accurate records of all current and upcoming shipments, ensuring visibility and alignment with planned delivery schedules.
- Communicate with the product and export management teams to ensure orders are processed in accordance with their specifications and timelines.
- Regularly communicate with suppliers to ensure smooth coordination, timely delivery, and accurate documentation for all shipments.
- Develop and maintain relationships with shipping companies, addressing service issues or concerns to ensure high-quality service and timely deliveries.
- Follow up with banks to ensure the timely processing of Letters of Credit, managing any issues to ensure smooth release of export/import documents.
- Ensure daily logistics operations align with broader business objectives, supporting strategic initiatives to contribute to company success.
- Monitor and ensure the timely delivery of goods to customers, addressing any potential delays or issues to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Comply with policies, procedures, ISO standards, Health & Safety requirements, ethical code of conduct & values.
Key Accountabilities:
- Proactively follow up on shipments to guarantee on-time deliveries, preventing stockouts and meeting customer expectations.
- Manage and resolve any discrepancies in Letters of Credit, ensuring timely amendments to avoid delays in shipments.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all current and planned shipments, ensuring full visibility across the logistics process.
- Develop and nurture relationships with suppliers and shipping companies to ensure smooth operations and improved services.
- Align daily logistics operations with the company’s broader strategic goals, contributing to overall success and growth.
- Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional development.
Education Qualification and
Experience:
- Bachelor degree in commerce or international trade or equivalent
- Minimum 3 experience years in a similar position in the same Industry
