This role is responsible for processing export shipments for the Freight Forwarding Team while coordinating with the contracted shipping line, customer, and other parties involved in the process. The employee will be responsible for achieving high accuracy through our operating systems to ensure high productivity and operational excellence in accordance with the requirements and / or procedures based on PSA BDP ethics.
Job Requirements- As assigned by supervisor review the LCM (Loading Confirmation Message) received from the shipper and submit Shipping Instruction to the shipping line. In case of errors/discrepancy, communicate with the concerned party and rectify the required data received.
- Follow up with the shipping line and ensure timely receival of manifest. Once received the manifest, audit the manifest and share with the clearing agent with the correct naming convention.
- In case of EDI amendments requested by the clearing agent, communicate it to the carrier for amendments. Confirm back to the clearing agent upon confirmation from the carrier.
- Ensure timely customs clearance with Abu Dhabi customs on portal and be at port/airport for any inspection.
- Upon receival of the customs clearance confirmation, send draft B/L instruction to the shipping line as per ECC handbook.
- Upon vessel sailing, follow up and receive the “Confirm On Board (COB)” report from the carrier, review the report and share to the functional mailbox.
- Responsible for timely and accurate update of milestone and data to BDP’s operating system.
- Communicate with shipping line and other partners for any requirements or exceptions found.
- As a contingency, the Operations Coordinator will contact customers with exceptions to advise shipment status or to obtain shipment information in a professional manner.
- Assists the day‑to‑day operations of the team to ensure that customer requirements are met.
- Ensures that highest level of data quality and integrity by processing shipment accurately.
- Support Project Business for route map, survey, preparing method statement, required drawings for heavy lifts.
- Must demonstrate awareness of compliance – QHSE and Business Continuity Management (BCM) principles and strictly adhere to the organization’s policies and procedures.
