Logistics Executive

Overview

The Logistics Executive is responsible for assisting with the team and cost effective, quality-orientated day-to-day running of the logistics function. Ensuring the planning and critical logistical solutions are managed to strict deadlines.

• Responsible for documentation regarding clearance, freight forwarding, transportation, stock management etc.
• Responsible for monitoring logistic market trends useful to the company and sourcing of supplies.
• Acquiring competitive freight charges (Air, Road & Sea)
• Arrange for movement of materials locally and internationally.
• Preparing quotations for Export/Import.
• Proper maintenance, retention and compilation of customs documents.
• Familiar with online custom procedures.
• Responsible for the overall tender supply (procurement cycle)
• Prepare purchase orders on daily basis.
• Correspondence with the Clients/Customers with regard all to the procurement matters
• Maintain liaison with the suppliers.
• Issue Monthly Sit-rep/(Stock-report) to the Clients/Customers
• Maintain procurement records for tracking purposes, delivery status, payments, reports and audit purposes.
• Review the requirements to determine the most suitable suppliers.
• Negotiate with pre-selected suppliers to determine the best commercial terms. (Price, specifications, warranty, delivery and payment terms) & assist with the clearing of Invoice discrepancies.
• Study local / International procurement trends to ensure optimal utilization of resources and make recommendations for improvements of internal systems and methods.

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
• Good knowledge of shipping documentation and warehouse processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics/ERP systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience with logistics software or ERP systems such as SAP ERP is preferred.
• Knowledge of UAE import/export and customs procedures is preferred.
• Prior experience in the humanitarian aid or logistics sector is an advantage
