Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement logistics and shipping strategies aligned with business objectives. Lead, mentor, and manage the logistics and shipping team. Establish KPIs, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate closely with Trading, Operations, Finance, HSE, and Compliance teams.
Shipping & TransportationOversee marine, land, and multimodal transportation of crude oil, refined products, and related commodities. Manage vessel nominations, chartering coordination, and shipping schedules. Ensure timely deliveries while minimizing demurrage, delays, and penalties. Supervise loading, discharge, and terminal operations.
Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure full compliance with International maritime regulations, IMO, MARPOL, local and international customs, port, and trade regulations. Monitor HSE and environmental standards. Manage shipping documentation including BL, LC requirements, certificates, and customs documents. Identify and mitigate operational, regulatory, and commercial risks.
Vendor & Contract ManagementNegotiate and manage contracts with shipping lines, freight forwarders, tank terminal operators, and transport and logistics service providers. Monitor vendor performance and cost efficiency. Manage logistics budgets and cost controls.
Inventory Operations ControlOversee inventory movements, stock reconciliation, and terminal storage planning. Coordinate product availability with supply and trading teams. Implement systems for shipment tracking, reporting, and documentation control.
Reporting SystemsPrepare management reports on logistics performance, costs, risks, and efficiencies. Drive digitalization and system improvements in ERP, TMS, and tracking tools. Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
Education- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Master’s degree or professional certifications (CILT, CSCP, PMP) is an advantage.
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in logistics and shipping.
- At least 5 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Proven experience in Oil, gas, petroleum products, or energy trading;
International shipping and terminal operations;
Chartering and vessel operations (preferred).
- Strong leadership and decision‑making skills.
- Deep knowledge of oil & gas logistics and shipping operations.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong understanding of international trade and compliance.
- Financial and commercial acumen.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast‑paced trading environments.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
